AAG Coaching Staff Includes:
Marquis Grissom-17 year MLB vet as a centerfielder for the Montreal Expos, Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants. Was a two-time All-Star selection in 1993 and 1994 and a World Series champion in 1995 with the Atlanta Braves. Grissom was a four-time Gold Glove Award winner in 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996 and was named the 1997 ALCS MVP with the Cleveland Indians. Marquis owns a career .272 batting average with 227 home runs, 967 RBI's and 429 stolen bases. In 2009, Grissom was the 1st base coach of the Washington Nationals.
John Langerhans-2nd round draft pick, father of Ryan Langerhans who has parts of 8 years in the MLB played for the University of Texas and selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 1972 draft. John played in the minors for four years before moving on to coaching.
Brian McRae-10 year MLB vet as an outfielder for the Kansas City Royals, Chicago Cubs, New York Mets, Colorado Rockies and the Toronto Blue Jays. McRae has a lifetime .261 batting average with 103 home runs and 532 runs batted it.

Joe Oliver-13 year MLB vet as a catcher playing with the Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers, Seattle Mariners, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. Oliver was part of the 1990 Cincinnati Reds squad who won the World Series. Joe drove in Billy Bates from second base in Game 2 off of Dennis Eckersley. The 1990 Reds were managed by Lou Pinella, who is presently the manager of the Chicago Cubs.

Jody Samples-professional scout for Cincinnati, Atlanta, and is presently with Houston
Calvin Schiraldi-8 year MLB vet making his MLB debut on September 1, 1984 for the New York Mets as a right handed pitcher. Calvin was a standout pitcher at the University of Texas winning the 1983 College World Series and being named the Most Outstanding Player and to the All-Tournament Team. Schiraldi's MLB service also included time with the Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, Texas Rangers and the Boston Red Sox where he appeared in the 1986 World Series.
Jeff Tam-6 year MLB vet as a right handed relief pitcher for the New York Mets, Cleveland Indians, Oakland A's and Toronto Blue Jays. Tam's best season came in 2000 as he appeared in 72 games with a 2.63 ERA. Jeff attended Florida State University during his college years.
Kevin Tyrrell-Coach at College of DuPage
Lenny Webster-12 year MLB vet as a catcher with the Minnesota Twins, Montreal Expos, Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles and the Boston Red Sox. Played in 587 games with 368 hits, 33 home runs, 176 RBI's and a .254 lifetime batting average. Lenny was also one of the active players wearing number 42 when Major League Baseball retired Jackie Robinson's number in 1997.
Walt Weiss-14 year MLB vet was the 1988 AL Rookie of the Year for the Oakland Athletics, a 1998 All-Star Selection and a World Series Champion in 1989 for the A's. Weiss also played for the Florida Marlins, Colorado Rockies and the Atlanta Braves. Weiss owns a career .258 batting average, 1,207 hits and 386 RBI's as a shortshop.

14u & 15u: August 12th-15th (Check-in on August 12th at 4pm- Osceola Sports Complex Stadium Store)
Please come to check-in dressed in practice clothes. A short practice will follow check-in.
If you arrive later on the day of check-in, please do not panic. You can email bwabick@abwcompanies.com to coordinate uniform pick-up. Participants arriving after check WILL NOT be penalized.

Age Eligibility
The USSSA All-American Games follows the April 30th age cut-off. Individuals will be placed in the age division based upon this date.
17u USSSA All-American Games
The 17u USSSA All-American Games will feature some of the TOP Prospects in the country. Individuals will have the ability to showcase their talent and compete for ALL-AMERICAN Honors and ultimately a spot on the USSSA National Team. The National Team will compete in the 2011 Gold Medal Games and will battle for the Gold against some of the world’s top players on the fields of the Houston Astros Spring Training Complex in Kissimmee, FL.
Event Features:

Individuals will have the ability to showcase their tools during the skills testing

Testing results will be posted at the event and on the ABR website

Based on the results, USSSA will individuals to enter in the following:

Home Run Derby

Around the Horn
o
Throwing Accuracy
o
Rounding the Bases (1st to 3rd)

2 games will be played
·
Hitting, Pitching, and Defensive MVP’s will be Named
·
USSSA will name & award their 1st Team & 2nd Team All-Americans

The National Team will be named from members of the 1st Team and members of the 2nd Team
·
Event coverage will be provided on the ABR & USSSA websites and the ABR magazine
14u, 15u, & 16u USSSA All-American Games
The 14u, 15u, & 16u USSSA All-American Games will feature the country’s TOP prospects. Individuals will battle on the field of the Houston Astros Spring Training Complex for ALL-AMERICAN HONORS and a roster spot on the USSSA National Team.

USSSA will name & award their 1st Team & 2nd Team All-Americans

The National Team will be named from members of the 1st Team and members of the 2nd Team. The 14u & 15u National Teams will compete in the 2011 Gold Medal Games in Kissimmee, FL. Each country will battle for the Gold Medal
·
The 16u National Team will compete internationally in 2011. USSSA will incur the majority of the international travel expenses.
*The 2010 HS Varsity National Team (2009 16u National Team) will be traveling to Osaka, Japan this August
